Thinking about preschool?

It's hard to believe that there's more to finding a preschool than just taking newhavenbaby to the door and signing him up.
In the first installment of our new feature, contributing editor Betsy Branch gives parents of newhavenbabies hot tips for selecting the perfect pre-school for their budding scholars.

I picked the Montessori school by listening to a lady at a library talk about how nice it is for her two year old to go to school. This was on a Tuesday. I went right home, went on line, reading a bit, said cool and signed the twins up the next day. They started on the following Wednesday. BUT I was lucky, they had two spots and the school is 12 mins from my house. I would TOTALLY recommend The Montessori School system to any baby. It's really great.

I'm jealous of the next-door Montessori! I really got some great ideas (especially for simple wooden toys) from a book called Montessori From the Start
